Omori-Kuratau Ratepayers Association
Welcome
_edited.jpg)
Omori and Kuratau are two villages side-by-side on the southern shores of Lake Taupō. There are approximately 1200 homes with around 250 permanent residents, regular holiday makers, and seasonal visitors – with generations of families returning. The community number swells to a few thousand in summer!
The settlements are just 14km from Turangi (entry off State Highway 41, with an amazing vista of the lake and Omori-Kuratau as you go down the hill), a 45-minute drive to Tongariro National Park, and one hour to Taupō.
With lovely sandy beaches, trout fishing, bush walks, and musical native birdsong - Omori and Kuratau are places to enjoy through all seasons of the year.
